Yogurt is a creamy, tangy dairy product made by fermenting milk with healthy bacteria. Its texture can range from thick and creamy to light and refreshing. Yogurt is a significant source of probiotics that benefit gut health.

The benefits

In Ayurveda, yogurt is used to balance vata (air and space) and pitta (fire and water) doshas (energies or substances), although it should be consumed at proper times to avoid increasing kapha (earth and water). It is particularly beneficial for strengthening the body and boosting immunity. Some research studies have supported possible benefits of yogurt including:
