Mint leaves are vibrant green and have a refreshing, cool taste due to the menthol content. They are popular in culinary and medicinal uses and known for their ability to soothe stomach ailments and freshen breath. Mint is incredibly hardy and spreads quickly in gardens.
The benefits
Mint is highly valued in Ayurveda for its cooling properties. It helps to soothe the stomach and alleviate symptoms of indigestion. Due to its refreshing nature, mint is particularly beneficial in balancing pitta (fire and water) dosha (energy or substance). Some research studies have supported possible benefits of mint including:
