The ingredient

Ghee is a form of clarified butter with a golden yellow color and a rich, nutty flavor. It is made by simmering butter to remove milk solids and water. We make our ghee with the addition of whole spices to add even more depth of flavor.

The benefits

In Ayurveda, ghee is considered a sacred, medicinal, and cleansing food. It balances pitta (fire and water) and vata (air and space) doshas (energies or substances) and enhances the healing properties of herbal remedies. Some research studies have supported possible benefits of ghee including:

  • Improves absorption of nutrients
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • High concentrations of omega-3 “healthy fats”
  • Good source of vitamins A, D and K
